The system was developed for schools, events, clubs and hospitality. Allxs is an integrated payment platform which consist of a point of sale with closed loop payments, credit card payments, member account management, inventory control, remote printing, vouchers, discounts and a digital rewards currency.

What is the difference between the Allxs point of sale and a regular point of sale.

The Allxs point of sale tracks itemised sales for every order with an integrated credit card facility. This means that the order is processed on the point of sale by selecting the correct products and when credit card is selected as the payment method, the transaction is automatically referred to the pin pad with no room for error as the amount does not need to be entered manually.

How is the Allxs credit card processing system different to any other credit card terminal.

Credit card terminals only record amounts that are processed and do not provide any detailed sales data. Mobile credit card terminals are not integrated into any cash register system and are not capable of automatically reconciling the sales.

Do my customers have to load their money onto a separate card to make my event cashless.

No, your customers can use their own NFC enabled bank cards or load an events card to use at your event.

What is NFC?

Here are some of the new features that you can look forward to in 2019.

WhatsApp support has been implemented to help parents and clients with a faster and more convenient support channel. Please add 066 472 8657 to your contacts as Allxs Support. Credit Card acquiring is now directly integrated into your Cashless POS to better accommodate parents and visitors that do not have an Allxs Smart school ID. This feature prevents credit card errors and helps to reconcile exactly which transactions were paid by credit card, automating your reconciliation process.

AXS Coin Rewards will be rolled out during the course of the first term. This digital rewards currency aims to help drive positive behavior across all the spectrum of school life. This includes rewarding healthy food choices at the tuck shop, achievements in academics, sports and culture as well as any other behaviours the community would like to reward. AXS Coins can be purchased by parents, schools and any other members of the community and can be used to reward anyone within the school community. This digital currency will be redeemable at the tuck shop for treats as well as value added services such as airtime and data right from the Allxs point of sale. Schools have the option to add their own rewards partners inside their own community as well as benefit from our growing list of partners. Movies, events and a few more surprises will be added throughout the year. South African venture capital firm Knife Capital announced the top twelve companies participating in its fourth Grindstone Accelerator programme. Grindstone engineers growth for South African innovation-driven entrepreneurs by shaping their companies to become more investable, sustainable and exit-ready.

Some of South Africa’s best scale-up companies have been through Grindstone with measurable results. These include ticketing solutions provider Quicket, financial inclusion business Picsa; augmented reality animation & gaming company SeaMonster; payments software provider Electrum, transport data company WhereIsMyTransport,  Bitcoin blockchain anti-piracy solution Custos and radar startup iKubu (acquired by Garmin).

Over the last three intakes, the interventions of the year-long program resulted in the participating companies experiencing an average of 56% year-on-year increase in revenue while mastering business fundamentals. Andrea Bohmert, Knife Capital Investment Partner explains: “Grindstone is about measurable growth, about building a foundation that can handle both challenges and opportunities. It is about being prepared, as interesting things happen to companies that are ready and able to act on short notice.”

In this cohort, Knife Capital is taking twelve businesses through an intensive review of their strategies to provide them with the insights and tools to build a foundation for growth. “We initially set out to find ten SMEs to partner with, but the exciting and diverse range of the opportunities presented, combined with corporate partnerships reached, enabled us to open the program up a bit wider,” says Bӧhmert. “Each one of these companies is at a tipping point, with many strategic options to pursue. During Grindstone the entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to validate their growth assumptions and check these against the company’s ability to execute.”

Grindstone collaborates with other top incubation and acceleration programmes in the market to augment the learning experience and continue the growth journey. The programme draws on various speakers, mentors and corporates as value-adding partners to assist in supporting these high-growth SMEs. “We were overwhelmed by the interest and deep interventions from leading South African corporates,” says Bohmert. This year Grindstone is partnering with  entrepreneurial-minded organisations that include: FNB, Webber Wentzel, Creative CFO, Thinkroom Consulting, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft 4Afrika, M&C Saatchi Connect, GMG Technology, Matchboxology and Billybo Group to link into and bolster market access opportunities.

Knife Capital is also currently in partnership discussions to launch a Johannesburg-based Grindstone Programme in 2019.

The TOPS at SPAR Wine Show will lead the way into the future by introducing technology to help manage wine inventory across the event. Allxs Media will deliver the solution that will manage the stock flow of more than 70 exhibitors from a centralised wine vault in real time. The inventory management system has been specifically designed to manage stock at events based on real time sales data, sampling data and pre-set minimum stock levels. The new platform will be rolled out in phases across the country starting at the Johannesburg event running from the 7th to 9th of June at Montecasino. The implementation of this system promises to streamline operations and deliver a superior customer experience with valuable data for all.

So how does the system work?

The stock is managed by a central warehouse representing the wine vault and a network of virtual warehouses that represent the individual exhibitors. Each exhibitor’s virtual warehouse is connected to a custom point of sale linked to the available inventory. The inventory is automatically populated in the Point of Sales as per a pre-defined unit of measure module. This enables an exact definition of how many millilitres constitute a tasting and how many millilitres constitute a glass or bottle sold. The automated requisition system can then be used to restock the individual exhibitor’s stock on hand from the central wine vault based on pre-set desired stock levels. As soon as stock on hand levels drop below the minimum stock level set, the system automatically triggers the requisition which is delivered to the stock controller for approval. This process can also be managed by the stock controller and adjusted manually before the requisition is authorised. Requisitions can be initiated from the Point of Sale by the wine operator, should there be a need for a unique requirement in addition to the automated pre-sets.

In the next phase, visitors will be issued with a NFC tag that can be used to track their tastings as well as their purchases without having to carry anything during the event, with the option of collecting their purchases on their way out or have it shipped to directly to their home using the complimentary Sip n Ship option. With this new service, all tasting data will be available to visitors on their personal dashboard along with purchase history and the ability to order additional stock online.
