The TOPS at SPAR Wine Show is set to lead the way into the future by incorporating cutting-edge technology to manage wine inventory across the event. Allxs Media will deliver an innovative solution designed to oversee the stock flow of more than 70 exhibitors from a centralized wine vault in real time. This inventory management system, tailored for event settings, utilizes real-time sales data, sampling data, and pre-set minimum stock levels to ensure smooth operations and an exceptional customer experience. The new platform will debut at the Johannesburg event, running from June 7th to 9th at Montecasino, and will be gradually rolled out across the country.

How the System Works

The Allxs inventory management system is designed to provide a seamless experience for both exhibitors and attendees:

  • Centralized and Virtual Warehouses: The system features a central warehouse (the wine vault) and a network of virtual warehouses for each exhibitor. These virtual warehouses are linked to a custom point of sale (POS) system connected to real-time inventory data.
  • Automated Inventory Management: Inventory levels are automatically populated in the POS based on predefined units of measure. This ensures accurate tracking of tastings, glasses, and bottles sold.
  • Requisition System: The automated requisition system allows for restocking of exhibitor inventory from the central vault. When stock levels drop below a preset minimum, a requisition is automatically triggered and sent to the stock controller for approval. Manual adjustments can be made if needed.
  • On-Demand Requisitions: Exhibitors can also initiate requisitions from the POS for any unique requirements beyond the automated settings.

Enhancing the Visitor Experience

In the next phase of implementation, visitors will receive NFC tags to track their tastings and purchases effortlessly:

  • NFC Tags: These tags will allow attendees to track their tastings and purchases without carrying physical items during the event.
  • Convenient Collection and Shipping: Visitors can choose to collect their purchases upon exit or have them shipped directly to their home with the complimentary Sip n Ship service.
  • Personal Dashboard: Tasting data, purchase history, and the option to order additional stock online will be accessible to visitors on their personal dashboards.
